A wonderful way to think

This week came with some bad news. a good friend of mine who I worked with and played football with passed away at 59 years old a couple of years older than myself.

This makes you think and reflect upon your life

No better way to do this I find than a walk with the dogs to a "Quiet place" of beauty and at times i guess we take for granted what is on our doorstep

With so much to choose from, I decided on a place I only just discovered and quite close by i

believe it's known by a few names The Stockly Trail, Car Vale Nature Sanctuary and the one I call it The Peter Fiddler Walk because a monument they have there celebrating the man's achievements

It has everything you could need on a dog walk, Ponds, rivers woodland hard trails scenic landscape with bird spotting stations, and most important for me these days plenty of benches to sit and watch the world go by

The dogs enjoyed their swim and i had plenty of time on a lovely Sunday morning to do the reflection about how short life is and what nature brings to your life if you allow it.

This is another walk in the most unlikely of places I would recommend to anybody

It is between Car vale and Bolsover with adequate parking and numerous walks, one leading all the way to Glapwell if you are feeling energetic or two or three circular walks around the ponds and river with plenty of places to rest or even take a picnic.

So if you need time to reflect or just fancy a breath of fresh air try it i know your dogs will love it because mine certainly did.
