This is the Mudi, our unusual dog breed of the week. Originating from Hungary, the Mudi is a herding breed developed in the 19th century and recognised in the 1930's as a typical farm dog. Soon after their recognition they all but disappeared, largely down to World War II.

The Mudi is a versatile and intelligent dog with a high working drive. It's a relatively healthy breed with little common issues, but they require a large amount of exercise. This means they excel at sports, such as agility and flyball. They are eager to please and highly trainable.

Have you ever met a Mudi?
